I purchased TurboTax Home and Business from Costco, and tried to download it from the installer website with my license key. I have a 2018 iMAC desktop with Ventura IOS version 13.7.8, and have been using TurboTax on this computer for 7 years. But when I tried to launch the 2025 product, I get a message saying it is not compatible with my operating system. I have tried mutlplie outlets to figure out how to upgrade the iOS, but none work. I have been on hold with TurboTax customer service for 20 minutes now, getting madder by the second.

TurboTax Desktop 2025 for Mac requires the macOS Sonoma 14 or later Operating System, at least 4 GB of RAM, and 1 GB of hard disk space. A 1 Mbps internet connection is required for activation and updates, along with a 1024x768 or higher screen resolution. It will not run on macOS Ventura 13 or earlier.

This is an explanation, not a solution. I'd like to know why Turbo Tax would release a new version that only works with newer computers. Moreover, after spending the $100 to purchase software that won't work, I spent 90 minutes on hold waiting for someone in customer service to answer a call only to be told exactly what you said. No solution. I returned my TurboTax to Costco and got my money back. Am switching to a differest tax prep platform because Turbo tax has become so **bleep** unresponsive. Well done, you have lost a loyal customer of over 20 years.
