Downloaded 2015 TurboTax is not responding

Way back in 2016, I installed TurboTax 2015 from a CD, which I probably can't find now.   It is on my old Windows 10 laptop.   I'm currently downloading and installing the Windows updates.   

When I click on the the exe file, nothing happens.  ( TurboTax 2022 will eventually open and ask about updates).  Is the Windows update going to fix this, or do I have to uninstall and reinstall?

2015?   Why are you even messing with 2015 software?   TurboTax no longer supports software older than 2021, nor do they provide updates for it.   Sorry.

Some relatives were told by IA Dept of Rev to file 2015 IA 1040--state says they owe a lot-- need to actually calculate and file.

Sorry---you are unlikely to get accurate results even if you  could manage to use that old software.   Your family member might be better off seeking local paid  pro tax help.

Are you sure the letter is not a scam. Call the Iowa Department of Revenue if there are doubts. Search the web for its number. Do not use the number in the letter. If real, there are only two options. use a professional or do the return manually. Either option requires that the documents necessary to prepare the return are available.  The IRS no longer maintains the federal copy of the return and Turbotax no longer maintains the xxxx.tax2015 file. If real this letter must not be ignored since it will take actions to collect the amount it deems due. For this reason, I think the best option would be to consult a professional.
