Download Turbo Tax 2023 in Japan

I purchased Turbotax 2023 through Amazon. I am unable to download it in Japan from Amazon.

I downloaded Turbo tax 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 from Amazon in Japan. Now I can't do it this year.

Do I have to stop using Turbotax and find a different company?

You will need to contact Amazon to assist you in downloading the TurboTax software you purchased from them.

The TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions for tax year 2023 have been available for purchase and download for several weeks on the TurboTax website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/

Amazon said that I have to contact Turbo tax to get a download in Japan. Turbotax doesn't allow Amazon to provide downloads outside of US.

OK ... then get a refund for the download you cannot get from amazon and buy the program from TT directly.

FYI ... if you don't need to file a state income tax return you can use the Basic download and save some money since all the programs can handle all the same tax forms.  Use Deluxe if you do need a state and avoid paying more for nothing.

Intuit won't let me enter a credit card address outside of the US for an American based credit card. Intuit is really making international purchase of Turbo Tax almost impossible. They don't want to help US citizens living abroad.

Yep that is a problem ... do you have anyone in the US that will pay for the program for you ? 

Another option ... change the billing address with the CC company to a US address ... wait a day then try buying TT again.  Then change the billing address back again.

That is a possibility.........I am frustrated with companies that choose to not function in the modern world.

I spent 1 1/2 hours with Turbo Tax customer support this morning in order to purchase Turbo Tax Premier in Japan. DeAnn tried very hard to help me access Turbo Tax but the company has done nothing to support her.

I can't add my phone number because Turbo Tax will not accept a number outside of the US.

Turbo Tax will only accept credit cards with an address in the US or Canada. 

DeAnn passed me to her supervisor Laura who said that she can't do anything to help me. She agreed that Turbo Tax is not interested in supporting US Citizens outside of America. Laura said that many US service men have similar issues to mine. Laura was not able to give me any contact information for managers and/or the company president for me to voice my concerns.

When I accepted that Laura was unwilling and/or unable to help me I decided to stop wasting my time. Laura said  "Thank you for using Turbo Tax". I asked her "Are you serious? Your company is preventing me from using Turbo Tax for 2023 even though I have used Turbo Tax overseas for 5 years".

I am very disappointed with Turbo Tax.
