does turbotax delux 2022 have problems downloading new yor state forms? this is my second disc ttdelux 22 ,both are not allowing me to download new york state forms

when i click the nys icon , it;; check updates ,tell me its up to date then ask me to purchase on line . one state is included in the disc purchase

...or...#2...There are cheaper versions of the CD deluxe available that DO NOT contain a free state download.....primarily used by people living in states without an income tax.

Either your bought the wrong Deluxe CD.....or they mixed the wrong CD into your package.

The ones that are known to contain a free state download say something like "Federal E-File plus State" on the package.

Sorry,  I should have mentioned I have been using Deluxe for 20 years and know about the FREE STATE.   Just thought there could be an issue similar to a couple years ago when deluxe would not recognize New York State pension was not taxable and needed work arounds.  UPDATE: stumped the expert phone reps on a multiple hour call. Still no resolution. The program seems to see the NYS as it appears in the upper top section but no forms are available to impute information nor none transferred from the fed, which has been completed and e filed

Someone else had that issue...another state I seem to recall.

Their final solution was to uninstall TTX and then re-install and update it .

IF you choose to go that route, make sure you save your tax file, and make an extra copy of it in a different directory, just in case something drastic happens. Uninstalling TTX shouldn't cause a problem with the actual file though.   When reinstalling, you have to start with a dummy-file so that you can get the NY software downloaded before you open yoru old tax file.  Be patient with the re-install....it takes A LOT LONGER than it used to.

Think about buying and using download software set instead in the future.  Should a reinstall be required for that, you can re-download the installation file, and that installation file is continually updated to be current...or almost current..fixing bugs and hang-ups that may have existed in the original installation file.

Thank you for ur prompt reply.  During the phone expert call, we did several uninstalls and reinstalls from her online account.  All ending the same.  No ability to load the new york state.  Im thinking there must be a corrupt file hanging out in my registry thats over riding any new install.  Going to try an older spare laptop, as the second disc that was supplied from amazon, the code was not asked for so still may be good for an install on another machine.  Ill keep posting my results

Maybe the specialist had you try the following things already...but other thoughts:

1)  For windows computer...a "Manual Update"

The there's a special procedure to clear out some background files that don't normally get deleted with the regular Uninstall/install .

2) For a windows computer...there is also a forced uninstall that clears out Junk:

OF course, you may be running up against the max # of installs allowed...but perhaps if you have two disks, you have two separate codes.

But the second computer might work out OK too.
