Does the software update coming Feb 10 with the updated 1095A interview mean I could've filed for free instead of paying?

My return was rejected for a problem with the 8962/1095A for the 1040. No dependents, no mortgage, super easy return except for this health care piece (American Rescue Act granted premium tax credits retroactive for 2021). TurboTax said I needed to pay them for the deluxe version. But did I actually have to, or can I get my $78 back because of their software error?

No, this form is not included in the Free edition, unfortunately. With the Form 1095-A, you are likely led to complete a Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit, which is not supported by the free edition.
