Does the IRS take my money right away if I file for an extension

It is too late for you to request an extension. Unless you are out of the country the deadline to request an extension for a 2018 tax return was on April 15, 2019. Now your return is just late. If you owe tax due then get your return prepared and file it as soon as you can, and pay your tax due as soon as possible. The IRS will bill you for penalties and interest; TurbotTax will not calculate the penalty or interest you owe for filing late.

I have already filed my extension, and turbotax has already said it was successfully submitted. But my bank account doesnt show that the IRS has taken out what I tried to pay. So do they or did I miss something.
