Does the IRS not need info from form 1095-C to check my eligibility for premium tax credits?

I have a 1095-C form from my work because I am eligible for their health insurance. However I have chosen not to participate in their health insurance and have instead continued with the insurance that I have received through the market place (Covered California). I have not entered anything from my 1095-C on my tax return as far as I know.

No, the IRS does not need information from your Form 1095-C. That is for your records. They receive a copy of the same from from your employer.

You will need to enter a Form 1095-A if you received one.
