Does it make a difference whether I put down 7, 8, or 9 months living with me, when claiming a dependent who lived with me more than half the time?

My ex-spouse and I are in a shared custody situation. As long as it's over 6 months, does it matter what I put down in the question? Or do I have to be accurate, and why?

No, it does not matter. I would just put down 12 months if you have a custody agreement where you are allowed to claim the dependent.
