Does anyone know how to delete the Form 8615? They ask for my parent's SSN and they do not have one since I'm not a citizen. I tried using the Tax Tools but it no luck

If you are not a U.S. citizen or resident alien you cannot use TurboTax to file your tax return. You have to file Form 1040-NR, which TurboTax does not support.

If you are a resident alien, but your parents do not have an SSN or ITIN and do not file a U.S. tax return, post a reply here and I will give you more details about Form 8615.

If you have tried this already and it keeps coming back, it is because you have answered an interview question that requires the 8615.  See below to see if you need it and then go back to interview in personal section edit if you do not really need the 8615.

The 8615 is automatic based on your answers to the interview questions.  As long as the answers remain the same the form will reappear if deleted.

The 8615 can be required whether you are claimed or not.

Tax for Certain Children Who Have Unearned Income

If a child's interest, dividends, and other unearned income total more than $2,100, part of that income may be taxed at the parent's tax rate instead of the child's tax rate.

If the parent doesn't or can't choose to include the child's income on the parent's return, use Form 8615 to figure the child's tax. Attach the completed form to the child's Form 1040 or Form 1040A.

  1. Under Income and Expenses
  2. Scroll to Less Common Income
  3. Select  Child's Income (Under Age 24)
  4. Answer questions as if you do have the child with investment income.
  5. You will get to You Qualify
    1. You qualify to report your child's income on your tax return.
    2. Do you elect to report your child's income on your tax return?

  6. You then can select no.
