Does 2016 Desktop have "Resume where I left off" in step-by-step mode? With earlier versions of TT, I didn't have to remember where I left off yesterday or last week.

How much earlier ? not recently.

In any case in 2016, your options are "Walk me through everything" or

"I'll choose what I work on".
