Do you know if your prepaid account is in the negative, will your tax return be sent back?

What prepaid account are you referring to?  Estimated tax payments made in 2022?

A prepaid walmart card, my refund was supposed to go on there months ago, I asked the IRS to send a paper check but they send refund to my account that is in the negative, and I have no access to.  So I'm asking if it will get sent back to the IRS?

If the refund cannot be deposited onto the card then the refund is sent back to the IRS.  The IRS will then mail a refund check to the address on the tax return.

If the account the refund is sent to is still open ( even if it is negative ) the money should still be deposited to it ... it is in the bank's favor to do so to recoup the negative balance.  Contact the debit card issuer for the answer to your question.
