Do non-resident alien husband and wife need to fill 1099-S separately?

My wife and I are both non-resident alien, and we are selling our house in AZ. The title company asked us to fill a 1099-S form, and saying that if we file joint tax returns, then only one of us needs to fill out the 1099 form. Considering we're non-resident alien, and it seems that non-resident alien can't file jointly, so do we have to fill the 1099-S separately, with the field of Percenage Owned 50% on each form? Or we can still fill just one 1099-S form under my name?

Thanks.

If you file a 1040NR then tell them you need 2 forms.

Thanks for the quick answer. That Percentage Owned field of the two forms should be added up to 100, right? Or it can be filled with 100 on each form?

the total together should not be more then 100% ... if you put 100% on both forms you would be reporting the entire sale twice
