Do I use non resident alien if my husband lives in Germany? My income is from the US, his in Germany. I'm filing separately. Do I need to click nonresident alien?

The form is asking if my husband was a non resident alien in 2021, are they asking if he lived in the US?

If your husband is a US citizen, then the answer is no. If he is only a citizen of Germany then yes.

Yes, you will select nonresident alien if your husband lives abroad and isn't a US citizen or resident alien (has a Greencard).
