If you and your spouse filed a correctly prepared joint tax return, then the refund or tax due shown on your joint return is for both of you. You do not have your own separate amount of tax due. When you file a joint return, everything goes on one tax return and the refund or tax due is for both people. Did the two of you enter all of your combined income, all of your information, dependents, credits, deductions etc. on the same tax return?
