I am working as an independent contractor truck driver. The company whom I taking the job, charging me 10% commission, which they deduct weekly from my pay.
They find the hauling route for me, making a contract of total amount to be paid, handling all the documents with it and accounting - I do my driving route and get paid of the $Total Amount of the haul - (minus) 10% commission fee.
But since I pay them a commission, do I need to report to IRS and send them a 1099? Or just simply list it as expense?
