Do I pay taxes as beneficiary on Long Term Care policy

My mom just passed away. I am the beneficiary on her Long Term Care policy. The money/benefit is coming from the total premiums paid on her policy. Do I pay Federal and State (CA) taxes?

Cash received as a beneficiary of the policy is not reported on a federal or California tax return.
