Do I need to file if only "income" was GI Bill?

For 2016, I only received Post 911 GI Bill benefits, no other source of income, do I need to file or report anything?

No, you do not need to file if that is your only source of income.

Per IRS Publication 970: "Payments you receive for education, training, or subsistence under any law administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are tax free. Do not include these payments as income on your federal tax return."
