Do i need to file a full year resident form ? turbo tax recommended but i dont understand why, i have lived in utah my whole life never left utah not even temporarily

Yes, you would. Their are really only 3 choices: full year resident, part-year resident and non-resident.

Since you lived there all year, you would need to complete the full year resident form.
