Do I need to create a new account with turbotax if I divorced last year and previous years returns were filed with my ex as head of household?

If you used Turbo Tax last year you should start a brand new account for yourself and not transfer from last year.  Online is only good for 1 return.  But you can use the same email address for 5 accounts.   How to start another return in the Online version

If you are now single for 2018 then yes, you should create a new account and user ID.  It is too messy to try to use an account that has previously been used for a joint return when your filing status changes to single. You would end up with stuff from your ex- spouse popping up here and there in the software and it would create errors you do not want to have to deal with.
