My spouse and I file jointly, but neither of us worked in 2021. Do we need to file?

You say you did not work. But did you have income? Unemployment compensation? Investment income? Social Security? Rental income? Retirement income?

No, we did not receive any of the above income.We are helped by our children.

If you had no income at all then you do not have to file a tax return.
