You have to enter all the Stimulus payments you received including any you got for your dependent. There are 2 boxes for each round. You have to enter the right amounts in the right boxes. You don't enter her amount separately. You should have got 1,100 for her not 1200. 500 for the first round and 600 for the second round.
So I was supposed to enter her check that was in her name under my taxes? Too late for that as I already filed does that mean I'll need to do an amendment or edit on next years tax return?

She got her own check? Then no you don't enter that on your return. She should not have got a check. Did she file her own 2018 or 2019 tax return? She must have filed as an independent? Wasn't she your dependent? She must have checked the wrong box on her return. If she is under 19 you can claim her no matter how much she made.
But if she got her own check and you are getting the 1100 now for claiming her that is ok. She can keep hers and you can get it on your 2020 return for claiming her.
She might need to amend her prior return to say she was a dependent. It may change her tax return.
Yes - she got her own check and I of course did her taxes last year so I'll need to see if I messed up.
Thank you,

So were you able to claim her on your 2019 return? Did you both efile or did you or her mail the return? If you both efiled then one return should have rejected.
How much Stimulus payments did you actually get for each round? Did you also get an amount for her with yours?
If you didn't claim her you may want to amend your 2019 return too. There may be Child Credits you missed getting.
I just reviewed her 2019 return and she was listed as a dependent and we of course claimed her. I filed all of our taxes via e-file (Ours, son and daughter) and we got 700 and change for stimulus, son got zero and daughter got the $1100 or so. I did not see an amount for her with our stimulus.

I've gone through the steps numerous times to try and get the prompt with no luck. The help states it should be entered on line 30 and while I can view that I am not able to manually enter it there. TT is saying all is good and I'm ready to file so if I don't figure something else out shortly I'm just going to pull the trigger and file.
Thank you for your help.

If you only got like $700 your income must be too high to qualify for any more for yourself or any dependents.
I totally understand that and do not want/need more stimulus I just want to report what we received so it doesn't come back and bite us in the ass 🙂

As long as line 30 is blank it's ok. The amount you got doesn't go anywhere on your return. You enter it just to see if you qualify for more.
Huh - well that explains it - thank you!
