DO I file single if my marital status is complicated, I do not want to add my spouse information

What’s complicated about it?  If you are married on Dec 31 you can either file a Joint return or Married Filing Separate or Head of Household if you qualify.  But never Single.

If you are legally married on the last day of the year, then the only options are to file married filing jointly or married filing separately.  You might qualify for head of household if you meet the requirements (see below). You are not allowed to file as single.
