To be considered a full-time student, you have to be enrolled at a qualifying school for a portion of five months during the year, in a capacity that the school considers full-time. As a practical matter, the school will typically indicate on the form 1098-T that they issue reporting your education expense if you are full-time, just look in box 8 (at least half-time student.) Here is what the IRS says about it:

being married has nothing to do with being a full-time student.
