I am filing a tax return with 0 amounts due/refund for federal and state but need to put in banking information to get my Kansas Homestead refund. I don't see an option to add banking information. Help please.

You will enter that right before your returns are sent. Go to the File section. Where do I enter my bank's routing or account number?
Thanks Dawn - but it does not give me an option to do that. Because the Homestead refund is not an IRS or State Income Tax refund but comes from a different state source (a separate check even if you get a state income tax refund) is why I think there is not an option to enter banking info on zero returns. . Other programs (i.e. taxslayer, ask for the banking information when you complete the Homestead real estate tax refund form).
Thanks Dawn - it does not give me an option to enter banking info. It might be because the Homestead Real Estate Tax refund comes from a different source than IRS or state income tax refunds. TaxSlayer has you enter the banking info when you complete the state homestead tax form.
sorry for the duplicate reply:(
I see - you don't get the option to enter a routing number with a zero balance. Since you are using the desktop software, can you go to Forms Mode and enter the direct deposit information directly on the Form K-40 or the credit form? (either K40-H, K40-PT, or K40-SVR)
If you don't have a filing requirement, you can file it directly with the state of Kansas, here.
Thanks Dawn. No - there doesn't seem to be an option to enter the banking info directly onto the K-40H form. BUT - I did take your suggestion and went into the forms menu and under both federal and state, it allowed me to enter banking info. I have submitted the files and so, hopefully, this was the solution. If not, oh well, paper checks still work. Thank you very much for your suggestions. I appreciate your prompt responses as well.
