Did not receive the economic impact payment. how do i get my credit? (Tax Year 2021)

Follow the steps below to enter your information for the Economic Impact Payment.

In TurboTax Online, to claim the Economic Impact Payment please do the following:

1. Sign into your account and continue from where you left off.
2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Federal Review on the top of the screen.
3. On the next page titled Let's double-check the amount you received; you will be able to enter your information.

The economic impact payment is $1,400 for each adult.  I believe that dependents also receive some funds.  Both my wife and I received letters from IRS advising that we should have received the payments, and we did have one payment for a total of $2,800 deposited to our account last March.  Our IRS letters arrived at different times, hers a month ago, and mine today!

If you are letting Turbo Tax guide you through your tax preparation, well into the guidance you will come across a page where you are asked whether or not you received any payment.  You can fill in your information at that time.  So, not to worry.  If you are not using Turbo Tax guide but are filling out forms on your own, you may have to do a search for the form to use.
