Did any one get charged for premium service but did not want them?

Are you in California and chose to pay your TurboTax product fees out of your Federal refund?   If so, that option to pay your fees that way requires Premium Services.   Premium Services includes that pay-out-of-refund option as well as other benefits such as Audit Defense and identity monitoring.  It has a service fee of $45.

To avoid Premium Services, California filers would need to pay their TurboTax product fees upfront with credit card or debit card and not select the Premium Services option.   If you haven't yet filed, you can change that payment option, remove Premium Services, and pay upfront instead.
