Detroit Non-Resident City Tax

I work in Detroit as a NonResident and trying to enter my days worked to allocate Detroit City Taxes. I've followed all the suggestions in the discussions and I'm still not getting a drop-down box as an option to select Allocate days worked.

I've deleted my W-2 an entered it manually & have gone over my State at least 10 times now. I'm not sure what else to do.

Detroit Non-Resident City Tax

Follow these steps:

In federal - For the w2, verify that your local wages are listed after state wages in the program.

In state -

  1. Once you select the Detroit city return, you should see your state and local wages listed.
  2. Edit
  3. select the drop down box.

If you are still not able to see the drop down box try these steps for the online version:

  1. Delete the form for Detroit- if possible, see How to Delete
  2. Log out of your return and try one or more of the following:
    • Don't use Internet Explorer.
    • Clear cache and cookies,
    • Sign in using a different browser.
    • Sign in using a different device.
  3. Log back into your return.
    • Enter the information again.
