Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner

Hi,

I saw the notice that Depreciation and Amortization (Form 4562) would be ready by February, but it’s already February and the feature still isn’t available in my TurboTax account.

Could you please let me know the expected release date or if there’s anything I need to upgrade or enable to access Form 4562?

latest from Intuit in other threads has been hopefully a release this weekend but no firm date available for when it will come.

you shouldn't have to do anything special - if on desktop provided you are getting automatic updates, the last was yesterday (TurboTax / About Turbotax / More Info should show 12th Feb as current build).

I've been advised today by management that the work on the depreciation section of TurboTax is continuing and expected to be completed with an update coming the evening of Thursday, February 19th.

How is this acceptable? No communication about it, no updates to people waiting!!!

My taxes were ready for filling weeks ago and here we are are checking it daily to finalize.

Truly not professional from Intuit/TT.

Do better, people depend on you to do better.

From my understanding, the IRS has finalized so this is purely a software update hold-up. However, on your very own form availability site, we are told the form is ready for filing.

Can we get a clear, transparent answer to what is going on, what the target date actually is (none of this "x date or AFTER" nonsense), and if your form availability site should be disregarded for all future tax seasons?

@friedenstone instructions from IRS were released on 2/11, so given that yes they are holding it up, to certify the calculations for filing.  HR Block is also holding up 4562 until 2/27.

Intuit have stated in multiple times in multiple threads and this one by @MonikaK1 that the functionality is expected in the release this week which is typically pushed Thursday night so check on Friday.

Agree on the communication tho and form availability site why it wasn't ever updated for this situation.

Intuit reps have been saying on a good handful of forum topics that the update will release on x date or later. They said end of the week LAST week. They also claimed another date prior to that. So, excuse me if I find their communication entirely unacceptable and still expect full transparency. They could have stated they were waiting on published instruction from the IRS. They also could have given more professional updates rather than stringing people along with arbitrary dates they didn't hit. And yes, they certainly can update their form availability page. This is not how you do software development on SaaS platforms.

Form 4562 is ready; however, the work on that section of TurboTax is still in process. It is expected to be completed and made available later this week with the end of week updates. Check back after Friday, 2/20/2026.

The wild thing is I seriously doubt the calculation on my Form 4562 is going to be any different from the last several years. I should be able to fill out 4562 myself and correct later if necessary.

If you are using desktop software you may need to do a manual update. Try clearing your Cache and Cookies and then try this link instructions.

If you are using the online software, Clear Cache and Cookies.
