I have completed my federal return. While I have rental properties which use "Depreciation and Amortization", Form 4562, it doesn't indicate I can't file. When I compare 2024 with 2025 the sheets are different but the form says "Tax Year 2025" in the middle and to the far right the form says "2024". Like I mentioned, the numbers changed. Is it correct? Will the updates effect existing items listed on Form 4562? If yes, why does the software allow me to go ahead and say all is correct and ok to file federal? I download the software from TurboTax site and I use the Home & Business version. I don't understand why the numbers changed if the form is not ready. Can someone please help me understand what is going on before I file my Federal return or can someone tell me the revision will only effect anything being add new in year 2025? Thank you

something is going on with updates to Form 4562 for Schedule E, there are multiple threads about it, latest estimate is an update by the end of this week (2/13 or shortly after). I don't know that applies to H&B but if you're seeing 2024 on the form I wouldn't file and wait for updates (or call Intuit).
someone else commented here that they made it thru to e-file without being told by the s/w about an issue
Please be aware that the pending update will affect depreciation for Schedule E (Rental Properties) only. Schedule C (Self-Employment) and Schedule F (Farming) were updated previously and should be working in all versions of TurboTax. If you don't have Schedule E in your return, you may be able to e-file successfully.
We do anticipate the depreciation calculations within the software should be updated on or after February 13, 2026. Our tech team is working hard to release the updates before that date.

Thank you for the information.
2/12/2026 - 4:00am / Received updates to Federal and State. I wish they would be specific as to the updates. So, I went to my Form 4562 to check if the year to the far right of the form said "2025" instead of "2024" as it said Year 2024 to far right when I thought I was finished with taxes. Upon review of my taxes, TT says all is accurate, no errors. The year does say 2025 and so I thought the form was ready. I went to check the depreciation and amortization section and I am still receiving the message, "We're updating this section for latest tax laws. You can continue and skip it for now and work on other parts of your return." Can someone tell me whether the update is available? Why am I not seeing an error when TT checks for accuracy? I tried to see if there was an additional update just now, manually and it says my software is up to date.
We are hoping by this weekend, if not before. We don't have a specific date.
Thanks for the update on by the 13th or after, why not just say we don’t know and remove the 13th from the conversation? That said if I hired an IT to do this work I would look to key into an actual date so customers can decide if they stay with TurboTax or take their business elsewhere. Maybe that’s the real reason for the vague answers from support.
Communication has been inconsistent. We were told the form would be available by Feb 11, then Feb 13, and now ‘Feb 13 or after’ without any clear explanation for the delay. The IRS site shows the form has been available since Jan 26, so the lack of accurate updates is frustrating. Transparency , timely status details and a clear reason for the delay seems to be a tall order here. smh
"the software should be updated on or after February 13, 2026" is not helpful or encouraging. It's meaningless. Today is February 13th. So it's coming someday after today. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe a month from now.
Exactly, now it’s past the 13th and as we all expected the 13th was just used as an irrelevant future date. The page on the site still says before February. Seems like TurboTax could’ve easily got ahead of this by better communication, instead of imaginary deadlines and goalposts that keep getting moved.
The work on this section of TurboTax is continuing and expected to be completed with an update coming after Thursday night. The best time to check for a change will be Friday.
Why not just say complete on Friday? Why not update the website and app, why not send update to everyone that’s waiting for this form in the email sign up? TurboTax handles this so poorly, and it’s so easy to communicate, it’s actually free to just provide accurate info. Note to self in 2027 to avoid this.
I've been advised today by management that the work on the depreciation section of TurboTax is continuing and expected to be completed with an update coming the evening of Thursday, February 19th.
I imagine this was known well prior to the 11th-13th if the amount of work requires multiple additional days. Can they clarify what priority this is on the upgrade patch and how many resources are deployed to fix it to give confidence in the date? Otherwise the community should cancel and receive refunds.
This disappointing to hear for the 3rd time. It's best that Intuit responds with a time frame rather than an exact date to avoid disappointed customers. Then just keep regular updates so your customers are aware you diligently working on the issue.
