Deducting expenses and credits from income earned as an independent contractor (1099NEC); TurboTax Deluxe online version does not do this

I want to deduct expenses and credits from income earned as an Independent Contractor (1099NEC). I am using TurboTax Deluxe Online version, and it does not let me do this (I can enter the income earned). I also have W2 income as well. How do I update my TurboTax if I am forced to do this?

You need to upgrade to Self-Employed in order to enter your business expenses on a Schedule C.
