My husband passed away in 2020. I filed a joint tax return for 2020. However, it was rejected by the IRS, citing a pin number not recognized by the IRS. I subsequently filed a paper return. When I opened my TurboTax account this year, it still shows all of the information for my spouse. Do I need to open a new account in order to file an individual return or can I still use the current account?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Yes, you will need to create a new account when using the online editions or create a New Tax Return using the desktop editions and Not transfer the information from the prior year.
Thank you.
