Daughter filed her taxes with form 8863, not realizing we file using the education credit. We sent in and amended her return however our efile keeps getting rejected.

Our daughter made one payment on her tution where as we made most of the tuition payments so we generally file on the education credits. She was unaware, so we did an amendment on her return. I have waited three weeks since sending it in and we are still unable to efile.

An amended return generally takes 10-14 weeks for the IRS to process.  You can check the status of her amended return by clicking here. Where's My Amended Return

In the meantime, you may want to mail your return as it will be rejected until her amendment is complete which could be after the due date for filing.
