The title says it all! I paid estimated taxes for 2021 and TT Online Deluxe KNEW about the estimated taxes via the imported .TAX file but FAILED to import them into this year's return!
This WILL result in serious OVER PAYMENT to the Feds and your State if not caught and fixed before you file!

There is nothing in the TurboTax program that will know that the estimated taxes were paid. Even if the program generated Forms 1040-ES for the estimated taxes, the program cannot make the assumption that those taxes were actually paid.
You have to enter the actual estimated taxes you paid for the tax year.
Well, The program NEVER asked me about any estimated tax payments!

To enter, edit or delete estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local) -
Or enter estimates paid in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to estimates paid
Or click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.
Click on Tools
Click on Topic Search
Type in estimated tax payments, click on GO
Federal estimated taxes paid are entered on Form 1040 Line 26
Ditto here re TurboTax state step-by-step even asking about estimated tax payments or confirming the importation of withheld state taxes from 1099s that were definitely imported to my Federal return. And the step-by-step has gone to the end of line, declaring I still owe what appears to be the entire tax load plus a penalty, and it refuses to let me back up or revisit the questionnaire. Does anyone out there know a way to get relevant help from an actual human being? Or at least a well-designed AI robot?
Seems like a no-brainer for the TT program to ASK: Did you make those payments I TOLD YOU YOU SHOULD MAKE?
I also fell into this hole and I am digging out! Seems like only a few of us are getting stung.
I made ALL THE VOUCHER PAYMENTS EXACTLY AS THE VOUCHERS TT PRINTED TOLD ME TO.
But TT was dumb and dropped the ball.
Room for improvement!
Yeah TT cannot know ANYTHING...but it *could* *ask*!
