Couldnt download the TT2025 on Macbook

My MacBook is still running Ventura. I tried updating to Sonoma but it won't let me. Does anyone have a solution besides buying a new laptop?

I have the same problem. I'm unable to use the software. Does Intuit have a solution?

there is nothing Intuit can do if you're on MAC OS 13, support for that OS ended last Nov and Intuit does not support Turbotax on unsupported OS versions.  If your hardware is not allowing upgrade MAC OS 14 that means your hardware is outdated also.

The solutions are either find/buy a different laptop that is supported (Win 11 or MAC OS 14 or above), use online (a different experience tho - no forms mode, only 1 return, tends to be more expensive tho Intuit has an offer this year to move a desktop license to use Online Premium Fed+State), or use alternative s/w - HR Block is your only option in the desktop space which is still supporting older MAC OS versions.

Is it possible to get a refund for what I paid for?

Has anyone use the H&R program? If so, do you like it?

There's been quite a few people moving from TT to HRB due to the Win 10 support issue, general feedback posted here is the UI is not as good/flexible but it gets the job done and you can get through 2025 taxes then worry about OS and hardware issues another day.  They also handle the transfer of the 2024 return provided you don't have depreciation schedules those need to be set up manually.

I would be a bit cautious going out of your way buying new hardware just to run Turbotax for a couple of months, unless you plan to do that anyway.  Desktop s/w is only 1% of Intuit's total revenue, their focus is online/live services which have 10x the users for 20x revenue.  It's possible at some point in the years ahead they exit Mac support or desktop altogether.

I went thru OS end of life on my iMac a couple of years ago, it ran fine for a year or so, but things started to fall way behind, 3rd parties like MS 365 and Adobe stopped updating along with the OS itself, I muddled thru taxes on a MacBook for a year then that went out of OS support, so I had to address the HW issue at some point.  I replaced the iMac with a Mac Mini on a pair of Dell monitors which has been a great solution for me - fairly inexpensive, powerful and flexible.
