Contributions to your Health Savings Account (HSA) that were made through payroll contributions should be reported on your W-2 in Box 12 with Code W.  This amount will be transferred to the HSA section of TurboTax.

There is a question in the HSA section of the Deductions and Credits portion of the return that asks for any “contributions you personally made (not through your employer)”.  This is referring to any outside deposits that you made directly to the HSA using after-tax money.  This does not include amounts that were made through payroll deductions.  You should see the amount contributed through your payroll deductions on this same page above the box asking for any additional contributions that were made.
