Connection with Charles Schwab to download forms / stock sales and trades from 2025 waited more than two days, still won't connect. I received a paper 1099-R so I know that the form has been prepared by Charles Schwab & Co, INC
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
The broker has to prepare specially-formatted files for direct download into tax software. Those files are not the same as the PDF you get, and take longer for their computer people to prepare.
Just try once a week every Saturday.
You could call Chas and ask, but many times, the reps on the phone don't know the difference between the paper/PDF files you get , and the special files needed for import into TTX, or other tax software.
1099 imports are not ready yet. You may have a 1099R in hand but that doesn't mean import is ready, the data sets for the import are different to PDFs and the major brokerages will release everything together.
Not sure what you are seeing and why "waited more than two days" but I just tried import for Schwab on desktop and got the following message:
According to Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. documents will be ready for import on following dates
Form 1099-B available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards
Form 1099-DIV available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards
Form 1099-INT available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards
Form 1099-MISC available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards
Form 1099-OID available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards
Form 1099-R available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards
Schwab account shows message that the forms are available for download but have not been able to download either my own personal or kids on 2/13. Turbo tax system says they were connected and downloaded the information but when you go back to the tax forms no data is present. Turbo tax rep says try again in a week. Never had an issue over years once Schwab says they are available
IF the import process popped up a screen the said the download was successful...and nothing was there in you tax file???..
....THEN, there may be a different issue people have been experiencing.
There is a VERY strange pop-up during the process that you have to ACCEPT or ALLOW. IF you don't Allow it, then nothing actually transfers.

Thanks for the feedback Using the desktop software made changing the local network access a bit more challenging but I was able to change it half way thru the transfer procedure. I must have hit no access during an update or something since everything transferred fine on an earlier return I did for someone. Anyways, I'm back in operation due to your links you provided. thanks again.
Good to hear....some other Schwab folks are still having issues...in spite of those (helpful?) posts directing them.
Some claim they can get other Brokerages/banks imported OK, but Schwab still gives them fits.
Yes, Schwab downloads successfully per browser but import to Turbo Tax is unsuccessful. Will try it again in few days.
