Is everyone else experiencing a long delay with Colorado starting to process your return after it shows accepted in TurboTax?

Good News everyone!
My Colorado State return has moved from "Return Not Received or Not Yet Processed" to "Return Received & Being Processed". It took 14 days from the time the return showed "Accepted" in TurboTax, which is when Colorado state placed it in their "Return Not Received or Not Yet Processed" BLACK HOLE queue, until it advanced to the "Return Received & Being Processed" stage. So, hang in there everyone. There is actually light at the end of tunnel! This should help everyone with their expectations on how long it's taking Colorado to start processing returns.
So, in summary:

So, here's a final summary of the timeline for Colorado State to process my tax return and deposit my refund:
This is just my opinion. I believe these extended timelines are now the new norm for Colorado State to process tax returns because of the additional measures they take to prevent fraud. Also, when they start processing returns at the beginning of each tax season, it takes them time to ramp up and catch up with the backlog of early filers. Hopefully this will help everyone to somewhat set your own expectations for the processing of your tax return with the State. Hang in their everyone! There is light at the end of the tunnel!

It's not clear by what you mean by "starting" to process the return? Does that mean you can't find any evidence of it at the Colorado DOR refund lookup tool linked below?
As for timeframes to receive the refund once processed, the Colorado DOR website says:
On average, expect the following timeframes before receiving your refund:
e-filing: 3-5 weeks
paper filing: up to 3 months
Follow your status here:
Colorado refund lookup tool:
https://tax.colorado.gov/refund
NOTE: At the tool, once you click "Check my refund" and go to the next page, you don't have to sign up and log in with a username, etc. You can scroll down that second page a bit to a "Where's My Refund for Individuals" link that goes right to the tool entry without needing to log in with a username. It's kinda hidden, but there is a message near the top right that says to go to that link to avoid a username.
In TT my Colorado return was accepted by the state on 2/5/26. The status on the Colorado Department of Revenue site is still showing the following. Just wondering if it's taking this long for everyone else for Colorado to show "Return Received & Being Processed"?
Is there another active thread where people are asking this same type of question?
The tiny print on that image says it could also mean your refund information you entered could not be verified. Be sure you look at your actual state return to get the refund amount and that you are entering all other information correctly.
You can use the forum search tool to see if you see any other similar postings from Coloradoans. Or you can phone the Colorado DOR tomorrow for assistance. They should be easy to reach. Contact info should be on their website for a taxpayer helpline.
Thanks for asking, but my information I'm entering is correct! I'm just waiting to see the kind of delays others are experiencing with their Colorado returns this year.
@ tjbc
With a forum search I found some posts from last year or year before that said there was a two week delay between acceptance and the info showing in the Colorado tracking tool at that time. I don't know if Colorado is still having that problem this year or not. Again, you may have to just ask the Colorado DOR unless you find any current anecdotes from Coloradoans on here.
I will ask a TurboTax Employee Expert if they are aware of any known issues with the Colorado lookup tool, but it may be today or tomorrow for a response.
@ Vanessa A
I noticed you had posted info on a similar Colorado tracking tool issue in the past around this time of year. Do you happen to know if this user's refund tracking tool delay is a known issue again this year for Colorado? I'm starting to wonder if Colorado has a perennial problem getting started each year. 🤔
Thanks!
Vanessa, Once Colorado returns show accepted in TT they go in the Colorado "Return Not Yet Received or Not Yet Processed" black hole. Until they come out of that black hole we have no idea where we are in queue before they start processing the return! It's frustrating and I've expressed my level of anxiety with the state but they probably laughed when they read my request for improvement to show a number of where we are in queue when we check the status. I seriously doubt they will take any action on my request.
I'm just looking to see what others are experiencing this year.
It would be helpful for other Colorado state filers to join this thread and post their experience this year. I believe it would help to know how long it is taking other filers to come out of the dreaded Colorado state "BLACK HOLE"!
Hello
I have not received my state back yet either
However my status updated last week to reviewed and that it should be approved in 10 business days. I'm hoping by this time next week I get the final update and refund sent. It has been 3 weeks since I filed.
user1771..., This is good information about how long the process is currently taking with Colorado state. What was the date your return was actually submitted to the state in TurboTax?
Thanks for sharing. This is good information for everyone following this thread.
😊😊😊
It was submitted on January 27th
No problem let's hope the process starts moving for everyone!
user1771...., Thanks so much for this information. It is very helpful and allows me and others to be able to set expectations about the processing time for our Colorado state returns.
😊😊😊
Same here, same timeframe and Colorado website says same status.
