Closing deceased cousin's bank accounts as authorized representative in CA. Need info on CA tax laws for receiving funds as representative/beneficiary.

I have been granted power of attorney by my family, who reside in Canada, to act on their behalf. During this process, the banks have presented me with options to receive the funds in my name.  I am interested in any potential tax obligations that may arise in this situation.
