Claim EV tax credit on another year tax filling

Hello, I bought a electric vehicle in december 2016 but didn't claim it on my 2016 taxes. Can I claim the tax credit on my 2017 return ?

No, you can only claim the credit in the year which you vehicle was placed in service.

You will need to amend your 2016 return, and it will need to be printed and mailed, no e-filing the amendment.
