Sorry---unless the child is disabled in a way that means you must continue to pay someone to take care of them while you are at work, you cannot get the childcare credit for a child older than 12.
The dependent care credit is for a child that is UNDER the age of 13. So to qualify, your child would have to be 12 years old or younger. This is why your child does not qualify.
