My form 8283 showed up after i ran this morning's "Desktop" Software update (29 January)
I did visit/edit my Charity which required the form 8283 and stepped thru it first (didn't change anything). Did that before looking to see if the form 8283. So I don't know if it was there just before or not.

I have no idea if the overnight update put the form 8283 there in the "Online" software or not, so those folks should first download a PDF of their "filing" copy to see if it's there.
How can I see if Form 8283 has been completed prior to resubmitting my return?
Item contributions over $500 may not be populating the form 8283 properly. Stock appears OK.
In the "Online" software, to see a copy of your tax return, to see if teh form 8283 is included, you have to use the "Print Center" in the left side menu...to create a PDF copy to examine or print out. Yeah, you'll have to pay for your software.
Desktop software users just use Forms Mode to see if it's there.
It looks like this isn't fixed in the online version (as of 1:45 pm MST Jan 31)
Are online users allowed to switch to desktop software? My intuit account, under "Products & billing", simply gives me access to the online version without an activation key to desktop turbo tax.
It's not working properly for "Item" donations over $500 in the desktop software either.
02/01/2026 Update: I have the On-line version. As of 02/01/26 7:00am CST the form is still not available/completed by TurboTax.
That being said: Each day on 01/29/26, 01/30/26, 01/31/26, & 02/01/26 I reran my taxes beginning with the Deductions logical unit work (LUW). I ensured to re-enter each individual charity contribution & verified all entries were correct & current. I then had the TurboTax system run thru the rest of the program. At the end when I checked to see if the Form 8283 was included (selected print preview) the form 8283 was still not provided by TurboTax.
I'll check again on Monday (02/02/26) & Tuesday (02/03/26) to see if the program is updated over the weekend, or at least run by COB Monday for a nightly fix run. Come Tuesday, 02/03/25, if the form is still not available, I'll just get rid of my deduction and loss out on $$ my return. I am not going to wait 4 months like last year for a similar form programming issue. It's just not worth the headache or stress.
Generally, once the regular tax season starts, they usually update only on Wed or Thursday overnights.
They might make an exception for this one...that is....IF the software programmers can quickly figure out what the problem is.

And a note to others too: the form 8283 won't show up at all if your itemized deductions are not over the Std Deduction $$ region...but this 8283 issue is a problem beyond that.

For those using the "Desktop" software:
OK!!!!, this morning's update (1 February) "seems" to have fixed it....(at least for the desktop software) And a weekend update is unusual.
BUT
You may have to go thru the entries again if you haven't entered addresses yet for certain charities.
But look closely, I have no idea if it covers all of your situations.
02/02/2026 On-line version update: TurboTax fixed the issue and is now producing & populating the Form 8283! Glad to see the system program fix was successful & timely!
