Can you remove the loop I am stuck in when I correct my W-2 Control Number?

The control number is optional. You may delete it altogether from your W-2. This should allow you to continue.

I got a hold of someone in customer service who showed me how to get out of the loop by deleting by W-2 entry and re-entering the data again and not putting in the control number because it was optional. After that, all went well.
