Can you just end your business or do you have to fill out business version and report zero income?

My husband was a sports official and had his own business for many years.  He is terminally ill and did not earn any money this year officiating.  Must I still fill out the business version of Turbo tax?

When you sell or close a business you need to file a final tax return to list how you disposed of the assets of the business.

If he previously filed under his own social security and used a Schedule C, then you can do it on your personal taxes. You could do that in TurboTax Home and Business or TurboTax Self Employed.

If he was incorporated as an S Corp, partnership, multi-member LLC or C Corp, then you need TurboTax Business to file the tax return.
