Can you help explain my unusually high Federal return for 2025 of $17,031?

My reported withholding for Federal tax was only $2882.

Go back and review your entries for income and federal taxes withheld.  There is probably a misplaced decimal point or a comma entered for a period.

No one in the user forum can see your screen or your tax return so,  no, we cannot explain your unusually high refund----except to suggest that you re-check your own data entries and see if you entered something incorrectly when you entered income or tax withheld.   You might have added a zero, or might have used a comma instead of a decimal somewhere-- or in more than one place.   Start by double checking all of your own entries.
