Can you file W-2s at different times? I have one in hand and one in limbo that I’m not sure of when I’ll get it. Can I file one now and the other when I get it?

NO. All of your W-2's must be entered on the same tax return. If you file one and omit the other one, you go through the agony of having to amend your tax return--a process that takes about 4 months. Employers have until January 31 to issue W-2s. Wait for it and put them on the same return. Make sure the employer knows where to send your W-2.
