Instead of?  No.    Your W-2 will have an EIN, but you need your W-2 with all of the information from all of the boxes.   Employers have until January 31 to issue your W-2, so wait for it.  ALL of your 2024 W-2's and any other income for 2024 must be entered on the SAME tax return.

What?  Please elaborate.   You need to have a EIN on your W2.  

It's just as fast and easy to manually enter a W2.  And the import might come in wrong.  You could have manually entered it in the time it took trying to import it and posting this question.

Don't try to import it.   At the bottom pick Change How I enter my Form

Then on the next screen pick I'll Type it in Myself

To add a  W2 just type w2 (small W)  in the search box at the top of your return and click on Jump To the W2

OR  To Add a W2 enter it under

Federal Taxes on the left side

Wages & Income  

Then Wages and Salaries- Click the Start or Update button

Then if you are married you should have 2 buttons...Add w-2 for (taxpayer name) and Add w-2 for (spouse name). Click on the correct button to add a W-2.
