I am thinking about using Turbo Tax for preparing taxes for either this year or next year because I will be selling my homestead. I have read through Publication 523 and it looks doable. However, I can see there are questions that will come up when entering all the data I will be mining. I need to be assured that there will be a number I can call to ask questions to a CPA or qualified person when things come up.
For example, I sold 8 acres of land in 2015 on which I took a casualty exemption which decreased the tax due greatly. This land was on a separate lot, not part of the homestead. This in my opinion does not enter into this transaction 7 years after that, BUT I would need to ask the question. I don't need an answer now.
Just two questions:
1. Will I have a number to call to get answers if I use Turbo Tax
2. Can I buy Audit protection if I use Turbo Tax?
