Can we claim our grandchildren,who lived with us for more than half the year w/their mother?

The girls father has tried to claim them, but he does not have their social security numbers. He also did not support them for more than half of the year.

Yes, you can claim your grandchildren as your dependents if they did not provide more than half of their own support and if your income is higher than their mother's income.

Yes, you can claim your grandchildren, since they lived with you for more than half the year and did not live with their  father for more than half the year. Your income must be higher than their mother's income. It is not necessary that you provided more than half of their support; only that they did not provide more than half their own support.
