Can the tax I owe for 2018 be added to the balance of monthly payments I am making to the IRS for 2017 taxes? I have not had a refund for several years.

I am still making payments for 2017.  Can the tax that I owe for 2018 be added to that outstanding balance?

Part of the agreement with IRS to get an installment agreement was that you would file on time and not have anymore balances due.

#1.  File the return timely

#2 pay what you can with the return to reduce penalties and interest.

#3 go to https://www.irs.gov/payments/online-payment-agreement-application

#4 IRS is usually good about doing another agreement.

You will need to adjust the taxes withheld so this does not happen again for 2019 taxes.
