I'm using Turbotax Premier 2025 on Windows. I am married filing jointly. I have two dependents. I did the Federal Taxes section and at the end had it review my entries. As expected it found some errors. I was able to resolve all of them except this one. I've tried searching online but haven't found any hits for this form field.
Check this entry
Person on the Return Worksheet (dependent name): Enrollmentstatus [sic] must be entered
Form name: Person on the Return
Keep for your records, 2025
In the first row the TP/SP Link box is highlighted. I can't type anything in the box. If I double click on it a new window opens.
Title: Link to Personal Worksheet
Select an existing Personal Worksheet to link to
Box
Personal Wks (my name)
Personal Wks (my wife's name)
Below box: 2/2 Copies Used
buttons: remove link, link, cancel
I am unable to resolve this error. If I select either name in the Link To Personal Worksheet box and click Link, then continue, and repeat for the second dependent you'd think this would be satisfied. However, no change appears on the TP/SP Link box on the form. In addition, if you do another check these two appear as errors again.
I initially chose Done at the end of the Federal review because I couldn't resolve it. I think completed the State return and prepared to eFile both federal and state returns. However, Turbotax is doing another review right before transmitting the returns and it again brings up this error. At this point my options are either resolve the issue or change filing method.

If you would like to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information it would help. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: (Don't forget to give us the state)
TurboTax Online:
Open your return -Go to the menu panel on the left side of your return and select Tax Tools.
TurboTax Desktop:
If you like, you can send a copy of your return that will be scrubbed to eliminate your personal data by using these steps:
We will be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return to provide you with a resolution.
DianeW777,
As noted above I am using TurboTax Desktop. I opened the return and navigated to Online > Send Tax File to Agent. I generate the token and I wrote down the value. I was never prompted to enter my email address as you wrote ( Enter your email used for TurboTax > Enter your code > Send ).
It's unclear to me where I do step 3. Is that some screen in "Send Tax File to Agent" that didn't display? Am I to reply to this thread with the token number and state like you instructed TurboTax Online users to do?
Matthew
Did you see my reply yesterday? It's unclear to me where I do step 3 and how I share the token number and state.
Matthew
You will share the token here.
Token 16703394-36986971
State: Minnesota
The previous post redacted the token number mistakingly thinking it was a phone number. Let me try again.
Token 16 70 33 94 - 36 98 69 71
State: Minnesota
I have the same issue... I tried 2 different laptops, 3 different browsers, on 2 different OS!
Here is my token #1339880 : Texas
1340013 - Michigan
Getting the same error as everyone else in this thread

Enrollment Status Work around is not working....any other ideas?
A Person on the Return Worksheet is created for everyone on your return. Have you tried deleting the worksheet, then stepping through the Personal Info section again to repopulate it? Did you enter a 1098-T in your return? If not, go the Education section, Edit your student and answer the questions about student status and enrollment, then Edit the school and add a 1098-T. If you don't have one, enter dummy info (delete later).
I figured it out (the above workaround wasn't working for me as stated). You have to go back to the Deductions, Education, 1098-T section, select each dependent, then go edit them. For each, even if you don't have 1098-T information, you have to select one of the eligibility categories anyways, like were they enrolled in a certificate program or something like that. Then answer a few questions until you get to a page where it asks if they were enrolled full time or not. I selected full time. Then, back back back up, and since in this case they didn't get a 1098-T, select that you don't want to do this after all by selecting "no" for all the categories on the first page for each student in that 1098-T section. Then the Smart Check will clear.
